Halloween 2026 is Saturday, Oct. 31. It's dark by about 6:25 p.m., and clocks don't fall back until 2 a.m. Sunday, so Halloween night is still on daylight time.
This page lists every official 2026 trick-or-treat time we can confirm for the North Country, plus the trunk-or-treats and Halloween-weekend events around it. We're updating it every day through Halloween as towns and villages announce their hours.

No hours announced? The usual North Country rule
Most towns here don't set official times. The common practice, and what Watertown police have recommended in the past:
- Go out after dark falls (about 6–6:30 p.m.) and finish by 8 p.m.
- Only knock where the porch light is on.
- Younger kids go with an adult; older kids stay in groups.
- Carry a flashlight or glow sticks, and wear something bright or reflective.
- Adults check candy before anyone eats it.

Where the kids will be
Our data forecast of Halloween night, Where Watertown's Trick-or-Treaters Will Go in 2026, maps about 3,300 trick-or-treat-age kids street by street. If you're driving through Watertown between 5 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, those are the streets to slow down on.
If you run a local business
Halloween on a Saturday means a full day of traffic: trunk-or-treats in the afternoon, neighborhoods from dusk, and adult parties after 7 p.m. Pizza places, gas stations and convenience stores near the busiest neighborhoods usually see the early-evening rush. Staying open an hour later, handing out candy at the door, or posting your Halloween hours on Google and Facebook costs little and gets noticed. Want help planning around local events like this? Let's talk.
