The weather should cooperate: Saturday is forecast sunny with a high of 56, but nights drop into the 20s, so dress the kids warmly for anything after dark.

In Jefferson County, Monday and Wednesday next week run noon to 8 p.m.; the other days are 9 to 5. St. Lawrence County voters: the Potsdam site moved since 2024, so older articles are out of date.

Also Saturday: it's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Find a drop-off site at dea.gov/takebackday.

Before you go

  • Most trunk-or-treats and haunts on this list come from InformNNY's 2026 Halloween guides. Hosts sometimes change plans, so check the host's page before you drive out, especially for anything outdoors.
  • Where no price is shown, the organizer didn't publish one; we didn't guess.
  • Halloween night is next Saturday, Oct. 31. Our forecast of where Watertown's trick-or-treaters will go has the street-by-street map.

If you run a local business

A weekend like this moves a lot of families through Thompson Park, downtown Sackets Harbor, Canton and the village centers, mostly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Coffee shops, diners, pizza places and gas stations near those spots will see it first. A sign in the window, an extra person on the counter at lunch, or a "costume discount" costs little and can turn passing traffic into regulars. If you want to plan for events like this ahead of time, that's the kind of thing we help with.
